Highcroft is surrounded by parks--literally. Sears Farm Road Park, a 16-acre Town
of Cary park, is located adjacent to the neighborhood,
offering play areas, lawns, trails, picnic shelters,
restrooms and parking.
Within an easy walk is Tom Brooks Metro Park with
ball fields, hiking trails, forest, and greenways.
Tom Brooks Metro Park is also home of the new national training center for U.S.A. Baseball. Greenway trails will connect both parks with the Batchelor
Branch Greenway.
The Highcroft
recreation center offers a junior Olympic pool,
bathhouse, and toddlers playground right in the community.
Extensive natural areas preserve trees, streams, and
maintain the neighborhood’s natural feel.
Highcroft’s streets are lined with (what will be)
large canopy shade trees and sidewalks, reminiscent
of neighborhoods of the past.
At the very heart of the community is Highcroft
Elementary School (which opened in August 2004)--which
allows neighborhood children to walk to and from school. Highcroft Elementary is currently ranked the top elementary school in Wake County.
